LAVA is molten rock generated by geothermal energy and expelled through fractures in planetary crust or in an eruption.
Susana Nunes and João Neves, long time friends and collaborators have been experimenting with expanded vocal techniques in many constellations. With LAVA they combine their passion for improvised music, electronics and visual arts while subtly stating how portuguese tradition is imprinted in their system.

While resident in Copenhagen the duo became a trio with the participation of Valeria Miracapillo on live electronics.
The trio presents moments of free improvisation and revisitations of fado, expanding them in a fusion with dense and fractal textures.
